CLIENT BACKGROUND:
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) manages millions of records related to vehicle titles, driver’s licenses, and registrations. At the time of the project, the agency faced an 18-month backlog of mission-critical documents across its 40 locations. These records also played an essential role in supporting New Jersey State Police investigations and record lookups.
SUMMARY:
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission partnered with Daida to eliminate an extensive backlog of mission-critical records across 40 locations statewide. Through document transportation, scanning, indexing, and microfilming services, Daida transformed over 120 million images into secure, searchable records while eliminating an 18-month backlog and improving access for agency staff and law enforcement.
THE CHALLENGE:
NJMVC needed to convert a significant backlog of paper records into digital images and 16mm microfilm while maintaining the integrity of mission-critical documents. The project required an efficient, scalable process that would eliminate the backlog and ensure records remained readily available for agency operations and law enforcement investigations.
THE SOLUTION:
Daida was contracted to provide comprehensive document processing services, including boxing, transportation, indexing, scanning, and microfilming of titles, licenses, and registrations.
Upon arrival at Daida’s facility, each document entered a structured inventory management process before moving through preparation, indexing, scanning, quality assurance, and conversion to 16mm microfilm.
Daida also developed a streamlined indexing methodology that reduced manual keystrokes and improved processing efficiency.
Through weekly document pickups and optimized workflows, Daida reduced the agency’s backlog from 18 months to zero within just a few months.
